Looking for movie

Hello. I'm looking for one old movie (black and white!). I think it was released between 1958 and 1967. It's the beginning of World War 2. The central character is a German women without a husband and with a little son (~5-6yo). After the bath, she asked her son to rub oil on her body. If I recall correctly, in the middle of the movie that woman is sick and lying in bed.

Can you give us any more hints? There were a lot of WWII movies made in that era. Do you know what country it was made in? What language was spoken? Any other details of the plot? Any character names or actor names?

The movie does not show any military action, at least the first part of it. Woman and boy living in a hotel or hostel. The boy walks freely around the building. Unfortunately, I don't remember any names. And I'm not sure about the language, but it's not English. I daresay it's German.
