I am a bit concerned when people who have just joined start posting all over the place; most of the time they have nothing worthwhile to say.

New members would have even more to say if they felt the support of elder members. I've seen it before... Long standing members comfortable in smaller controlled groups, not to comfortable with the idea of expansion.
We all have a common goal, and all had to start somewhere.
Admins - many forums have an "introduce yourself" forum to bed in newcomers - would that be of some benefit here (mindful of the belief we already have wayyy too many forums).

Sounds a nice idea!

Even just an "introduce yourself" section in this forum?

Great idea, billanben. :thumbsup Please implement ASAP. Maybe a small reminder could be put there so members don't put sensitive information there, eg. email addresses.

While we're at it, how about some way of identifying the avatars selected by the members? We see many interesting pictures used as avatars; many of them I don't know at all; worse, I keep forgetting the ones I was told about earlier. Maybe text label underneath the picture (to be set by the member in his board settings) of even a pop up tooltip. What do you guys think? Or we could have a thread where everyone tells us something about his or her avatar. :think :clap

I'm afraid not many people want to talk about themselves, myself included. It might be a better idea to talk about favorite child actresses (or actors) or favorite movies :think

I really like this idea. I am always wondering who a number of the avatars are.

I like the idea of more people posting, but then, like someone said earlier, there are only so many movies out there of interest to FLM. There are already a number of movies on the site that only have a child in a minor role and only appears for a few minutes, or an actress that is over 18 playing the role of a younger person. If people try too hard to post something just to contribute, we would probably get more of this type of film. I really appreciate the people who may not upload a movie, but continue to share a movie after they downloaded it so that there are more sources available. I am still trying to download about 30 movies that are partially complete but there have been no sources available for a while for them.

I bought a number of movies when I was in India last week, hoping to find something more to put on the site. I watched one last night titled "Mr. India" that is about a guy who runs an informal orphanage. There are a number of cute kids in the film and a short "OT" segment, but there are so many side stories in the movie that the kids only appear in about 20% of the movie. The movie does not know if it wants to be a science fiction movie, a comedy, a musical, or a drama. I thought that it was not really relevant enough to put on the site, though I can if someone would really want it. I try to only post movies that I think other people would really want rather than just put up any film with a kid in it.

Sharing everything blindly is not a good idea either. When I started to use eMule, I was hoping that the I could share everything I ever downloaded and the system would prioritize shares automatically, effectively unsharing stuff with high number of complete sources, but it didn't seem to work very well. Downloads are often slow, because people share too much.

Many eMule users tend to share too much, because sharing is so easy compared to torrents. I think that is the main reason why torrents are faster :think

Why don't you let me know which movies you need? If I have the files I'd gladly reshare. If I don't have the files, then probably nobody here has them and we need new rips.

If Phuzzy is right that about 1/3 of users registered since August have posted something, then FLM is actually doing better than I thought. Most non-posters probably fall into these categories:
  • cannot (or don't want to) use eMule;
  • boy movie fans, who consider FLM a girl-oriented site;
  • looking for some specific movie, not interested in FLM;
  • poor English skills;
  • too shy to post.
I think we need some nice general discussion threads to break the ice.

vidman, you're a tease. What was the name of this movie? Did you ever release it?

No, I never released it, but I can if you or someone else wants it. I was not very impressed, but parts of it aren't too bad.

And the name of the movie is "Mr. India"
