R5 is roughly equivalent to a DVDScr, and a DVDScr isn't usually accorded REL status. R5s are much less dependable quality than DVDRips, some even have CAM audio. So usually the R5 link is posted here for those who don't want to wait but we wait for a DVDRip to make a REL.popdrome wrote:So at what point do "we" actually decide it's a Release?
ptg could have posted the link, no rule against it, but he elected not to. I see a couple of R5s on eMule for those who want it now.
The file ptg mentioned looks like one of the better R5s, here's a section of the info file.

well that was a load of work. The Quality of the DVD was ok.
Added sharpness,chroma,rgb,denoise and brightness.
Audio had a static hiss and noise throughout, cleaned that best as possible. dont wanted to go over and remove more or the audio gets muffled, but its much better know.
Wasnt happy with the sync, was oose on various spots and it didnt meet my hiqh quality lipsync standard.
So i had to do a complete resync of the cleaned track.
Subs also delayed it a lot. The Russian DVD had russian subs for all foreign parts on the disc, so i extracted them to get the original timeframe places for the subs in the movie.
I translated all german parts myself, since i speak german no problem for me at all.
i took the arabic and spanish translation parts from EP1C´s version, hey i cant speak all languages
so thx for that parts.
looks very good now
btw i replaced the first 2 mins with the russian effects in the front channels since there is no voice, sounds much better at the introduction and you cant hear the remaining hiss right at the beginning
Of course, if it's a DVDRip. Not because R5s are automatically bad, but because they are more likely to be lower quality and much more likely to have eMule sources disappear when DVDRips become available. If it were going to be years it would be different, but the R5 normally predates the DVDRip by a couple of months or less.popdrome wrote:when I share / find a decent rip, can we move it to [REL] ???
I personally don't see the rush, but that's my own opinion and is often overridden by members here who would rather have it now no matter what the quality. There's certainly no reason anyone who wants it now needs to wait, a "REL" status means nothing in that regard.
