releases
Ok took a few days to think about it and I have decied not to post my release here for now. I have no idea what the point of this forum is anymore and I have no desire to fill the forum with "trash"/off-topic posts.
For thous who were intersted in some of what I'm ripping. I have no idea where or if I will bother with an online forum. My only advice is to watch the newsgroup alt.binarys.movies.kidstuff all of my new stuff will get posted there than shared on eMule. If you cant download from the newsgroups but you can view it. Just do a search for the movie a day or two after I post and you should find it.

Re: releases
I don't think you are posting off-topic stuff, but it is almost impossible to get your releases with eMule...
Many releases, you are the only source, very big Filesizes...
Anyway.. thanks for your work! :thumbup1:

If I might be the cause of your decision I can only say I apologize.lostandbroken wrote:"trash"/off-topic posts.
What I only wanted to say is that no one demands you to hurry in such way and to post till the lines run hot. Why do you do so? Keep it slow. There will come times when no one has something new to post and if you then still have some treasures left over it will be more enjoyable as if you'd post them all at once. Sure, some people are greedy so that they suck off the net as much as they can get. This can even end up badly. People with a high traffic are some kind of beacons on the wide pool of P2P users watched by the authorities. You know what I mean...
Also, if someone tries to get a very rare movie besides one of your posts he might be unlucky because the bandwidth is fully used by any other up/download than the file he's eager to get finally. The system of P2P is not very controllable.
Regarding what the forum is all about: I'm one of the first users here and as long as I know it I would say that we don't want to be like any of the thousand of other movie forums, like fileheaven. Why? Because the users could go there and find what they want. Here, we've always tried to list very rare, rare and typically childish movies from ALL OVER the world. Many forums are, for instance, americanized.
But..these are only mine considerations. No one has to listen to them or even think the same way. I just meant to let you know...
Please stay and post from time to time, lostandbroken.

Re: releases
I second that. eMule isn't able to distribute a flood of dvd-rips from a single source.ghost wrote:Many releases, you are the only source, very big Filesizes...

Re: releases
I can agree with you but only too a point. There is some logic in the way eMule selects parts to upload. If only one person was trying to download a file. Yes it would be hard. But my Q on average only has around 90 -110 people. Thous who share often are rewarded on my server and do get pushed to the front more. But when you have multi people download. You can download in a circle and while it seems to be a stretch. Just sharing a file for a week makes a big difference. But given the amount I have released it is a mute point. Its also why I post everything in the newsgroups. I believe the newsgroups to be a far better method of sharing files and its much more secure. Right now from time to time people are sharing movies I release in the newsgroups so there is more than just me sharing it. A lot more people have been taking notice and there was some on-topic posting by someone other than me last night. In time the group will grow and if I have not been thrown in jail and bared from a computer my rips will come out much faster. I have no plans to stop ripping. It’s not going to be any faster if I wait to release it later or do it now. Either way you have to wait for it. I don’t think anyway is just downloading everything I put out.idler wrote:I second that. eMule isn't able to distribute a flood of dvd-rips from a single source.ghost wrote:Many releases, you are the only source, very big Filesizes...

Re: releases
I would like to download everything you put out, but sadly, I have to pick and choose. I have low bandwidth - its the best package I can afford at this time as internet access is still quite expensive in my country. Governent restrictions make it very difficult, and expensive, for me to get access to newsgroups. Typically, our news servers have no alt. binaries listings.
Most news servers don't have unlimited space; as more posts are added, the oldest posts are deleted. This wasn't a major problem a few years ago, but now, as people post hundreds of huge files, the end of the line comes sooner for older files, especially on the smaller news servers. Unlike p2p, once a newsgroup post is gone, its gone for good.
As a result, the only types of downloads available to me are direct, ed2k and torrent, of which I like ed2k best. 100% corruption free, works more or less without user intervention, and the posts typically stay alive for years. Even just one source is enough; you just have to be patient and you'll eventually get it.
The part selection you mentioned: the clients simply select the rarest (least distributed) part when their turn comes to download. This tries to ensure that there are an equal number of sources for each part, which is excellent for distribution.
Sadly, there are those selfish people who will stop sharing the file as soon as it completes.
This is what hurts the network, as a complete source is taken offline. This is why we have communities like FLM; at least you know that these downloaders will help you distribute the file, not only uploading whatever parts they have while their file is still incomplete, but also by continuing to share the file long after it completes. It is a good idea to give preference to such users. Adding them to your list of friends gives them a 2x boost in their score, so their turn to download comes quicker.
Finally (whew, this is one long post!) I have found that regardless of what you post and where you post it, it is impossible to please everyone.
People differ, their tastes and preferences differ. I have found that the best policy is to 'label the box' as unambiguously as possible. If people have a better idea of what they are downloading, they know what to expect and will not be disappointed.
Case in point: There are people who are just looking for flashes of nudity; put the words [No Nudity] in your posts and you'll get no complaints from them (these guys tend to complain a lot
)
And don't worry too much about 'first love' either. By that standard, Homecoming, my favourite movie found on this forum, is completely off topic!

Re: releases
In fact "first love" has nothing to do with the topic and shouldnt be taken literally! Its more to do with the films you loved during your early years (the movies you first loved) well that was the original intention for FLM.
FLM is very clearly explained on the home page
At least thats how I understand it.
