Girlhood (2003)

Shanae was ten years old when she was gang-raped by five boys. She responded by drinking and drugging, and then at age 12, graduated to murder. Abandoned by her mother, a heroin addict turned prostitute, Megan ran away from ten different foster homes before being arrested on assault charges. Both girls ended up in the Waxter Juvenile Facility, home to Maryland's most violent offenders. Academy Award nominated director Liz Garbus follows Shanae and Meganifor the next three years, as they try to make a life for themselves both inside and outside of Baltimore's juvenile justice system. A story of mothers and daughters, crimes and consequences, and strength in the face of unimaginable adversity, Girlhood is a testament to the faith and struggles of two girls just trying to grow up. "One of the most haunting and important films of the year" - LA Weekly
Available at amazon.

Have bad news for you, Rich. The Link you gave is the same Japanese porn movie in full version, I extracted a fragment and saw it in Edwatch, so you must delete it as mine ones.

:(

I'll keep on hunt of the movie.

Since things have quieted down just a little I think I'll release a bunch of stuff I've been accumulating. :dance

Shanae stabbed a friend to death when she was 12. Now 14, she's in the Waxter, a juvenile detention facility in Maryland. She's still in denial: she thinks that the girl she killed has had it easier than she has.

Megan, 16, has been in 11 foster homes since her junkie/sometimes prostitute mother has been in and out of jail. Megan, predictably, has gotten in trouble herself and is also at Waxter.

The film follows them for 4 years: at Waxter, with their families, and back in society.

The first time I watched this I couldn't help be struck by how depressing their lives were. By the end of the movie there was a ray of hope, at least. And when I watched it again, listening to the director's commentary, I was much more positive about things. Not typical FLM fare, instead a serious look at the girls' lives and the system.

My rip.... including a 2nd audio track with the director's commentary.
