This was surprisingly enjoyable, just watching kids being kids. Ah, to be that young again. They looked like age 6 or 7 - do children start school later in Russia than elsewhere? In the U.S. kindergarten is 5-year-olds, elementary school is ages 6-12, junior high is ages 13-15 and high school is 16-18 (with slight variations).

AFAIK they start school when they are 7 and they don't distinguish between "elementary" and "junior high", because school is mandatory for 7-15 year olds and they are usually in the same school. In small villages, there are schools for 7-9 year olds, so they have to go to another school when they are older.

Kids going to school for the first time on the first of September are so cute

Later the school will suck, though.
