Oh yeah. This movie was BTW directed by Rolan Bykov, a well-known Soviet (Ukrainian) actor, who also directed [REL] Vnimanie cherepaha (1970). He had adult roles in many FLM movies.

According to RFF and IMDB the correct transliteration from the cyrillic is "Lyuba" not "Liouba" ... Shouldn't then the name of this thread be changed for the sake of clearness?

Thanks, ghost. This film is hard to watch. Not sure if the mother was mentally ill, but to hurt a child like that... makes you want to punish the adult at least as hard.
