FYI vimeo often has the original available and it is almost never smaller than 100MBs. I have seen files over a gig for a short.
Nearly 300 MBs for a 8min film is too big to share for me. Next time if I share an ed2k I will give heads up if it is not the best file available. (never have we done this with a youtube!!!!) I will include the regular vimeo url from now on so you can check there and or let one of you grab and release it on ed2k. I do usually release the best version.

When there's a link to the source included in the post, that should be more than enough for anyone wishing to download it,it's not the poster's responsibility to declare which version they're releasing.

Stafish was answering to my comment that was in reference to shorts we get off youtube or likewise streaming sites. We have tons of videos here from youtube that do not list which quality/file size we are posting. Also people are using different programs and some do not offer the best option. Videos others have posted I have found the same short from other places of higher quality and likewise has been done for some I posted as well. Yoko's point was understood and was taken. But this should never have been a discussion to begin with. People can release how they want especially when it is something no one else has brought here before. Streaming sites can be tricky and if an upgrade is found by someone else it is welcome and or if they can can point to a better place to get it that too will be welcome. I will take the original comment as a request that will be filled as best that it can be within reason, convenience and circumstance.emuler wrote:I think it is.starfish21 wrote:...it's not the poster's responsibility to declare which version they're releasing.(Not really commenting on this particular film; just a general observation). You yourself provide a lot of media info and screenshots to go with your releases, and that is a very good thing.
PTg often gives us a heads up that a HD version is available on torrent.
The fact is that different people have different viewing preferences - if there are other sizes/resolutions/quality/lengths available, it is always appreciated if that information is passed on so that we can make an informed decision regarding which one to get.
