This is a rough but understandable fansub that was timed for the previous 83 minute 20 second version. The new 1080p version at 89 minutes 36 seconds has 6 minutes of additional / extended scenes; nothing particularly exciting, but they clearly belong in the film. I have retimed the subtitles to fit around the additional scenes, which are therefore unsubtitled. They are detailed here:

The shorter is the original file unchanged. The longer I have resynced and adjusted some of the line spacing, but have left the translation untouched.
An amazingly subtle, lyrical picture about the childhood of those who, during the Great Patriotic War, first suffered the burden of the loss of loved ones, the desire to take revenge on the enemy and the desire for happiness. The heroes of the film - the boys Igor and Zhenya - live in the front-line city and are waiting for their fathers, brothers and sisters ...
According to a poll of Belarusian critics, it was recognized as the best film in the entire history of Belarusian cinema.
