I don't know. I saw the english rip and bought the german Blu-ray, but I could not say there's something different.

Nice. I suppose you've seen both versions, then. ;)

Anyway, YIFY has released BluRay rips of this (which BluRay I don't know  but the duration is the same 99 minutes). If torrents work for you these should be a quick download.

http://yify-torrents.com/movie/Hick_2011_1080p 1080p 1.44GB
http://yify-torrents.com/movie/Hick_2011 720p 753MB

Anyone patient/ desperate enough to want it from me please say so. I'll be going for the 720p version.

753MB for a 720p rip? That's definitely not HD anymore. I wouldn't download them, unless you want to watch it only one time and then delete.

Try them first. Technology has come a long way - it is amazing how good these small sized rips can be. True, in some films some scenes don't compress well, but the overall impression is very good.

If you intend to watch it on a big screen (LCD/LED TV) you should go for the 1080p version.

you're bang on the nail,Inf,heavy emphasis on small filesize, rather than overall quality, sounds not great, good for one time viewing then straight to the bin. 8-)

Try these first. I'm replacing all my previously downloaded HD rips with those from YIFY, ganool, anoXmous, etc. since I couldn't tell the difference between a 15GB 1080p conventional rip and a 700MB 720p ultra low sized rip even on my 32" 1080p LED TV.

For the file 'size' YIFY's rips are great but have limitations when it comes to sound. If you are listening through a 2.0 system such as a sound bar or tv speakers the files are fine. If you are listening through a nice theater system they are inferior compared to Ganool or anoXmous rips. But if you have the bandwidth and storage capabilities on a main stream movie there are 'always' better rips out there at a larger size.

Very true. You can even download entire BluRay discs - about 30 to 50 GB each. Soon, these too will be passe - the trend is towards even higher resolutions; 1440p and more.
