Synopsis:

The world has been devastated by a virus that has decimated the adult population leaving small children and teenagers to roam the scarred landscape attempting to form some kind of society with dramatic and violent results. Sisters Evie (Catherine Wrigglesworth) and Fran (Emily Forster) have been traveling from town to town, gathering food and finding accommodation as they move from place to place. They keep to themselves; Evie reading chapters from E. Nesbit's classic children's story 'The Railway Children' to her little sister in an attempt to bring a sense of normality to their bleak existence..

It's 'The Lord of the Flies', but [blended with] '28 Days Later'. A doomsday virus of madness and death has destroyed the world’s adult population. Only the young survive. They watch in horror as their parents go mad and die.

Haunted by terrifying memories, they fight for life in a bleak wasteland. Gangs of teens and outlaw children roam the scarred landscape. Sisters Evie and Fran keep to themselves, two outsiders gathering food and moving from town to town...

The battle between newcomers and the vicious pack spirals into a violent explosion. Teen romances, sexual jealousies and cliques inflame a grisly struggle for food. It’s The Road to a grim new civilization.

For me, an obvious [if you can't tell by the pix] intriguing part of the film was the appearance of Cass and her band of cannibal girls. Unfortunately their characters weren't as, ummm, fleshed out as I would have liked...

I've had this one for awhile*.. I would describe it as a very low-budget, apocalyptic coming-of-age film.

Spoiler: I've been internally debating releasing this movie for a few months.. When I saw it's been released on DVD, I decided to bring it here.. (I first got the screener from an online friend who works at the school a lot of the kids came from.) I wanted to LOVE this movie SOOOO much: *I was impressed by the premise. *It was filmed in Ireland, land of my forefathers. *It's cast was primarily children aged 8 - 17; most of them girls. Unfortunately, I don't feel like it lived up to it's potential. Don't get me wrong; I really liked the movie despite having many gripes. (I don't want to ruin the post by blathering about them right now..) I just couldn't "LOVE" it like I wanted to... Hopefully some members here will enjoy it for what it's worth..

I'm still the only complete source right now, so [un]fortunately the life of this file held in sway by the moods of my 10-year old PC... I find that after sharing out for several days in a row [night and day] my PC decides to unceremoniously block my eMule and I have to shut it down and restart everything.

I've got it back up and running and hopefully sources should be showing up for you [and any other members interested] very soon. I'll try to keep a better eye on it in the coming days.

Stumbled across this ol' thing whilst searching somethin' else...

I remember I enjoyed it with all it's low budget charm. The acting was sketchy, but the kidz were just so gosh-darn cute..
Especially Ellen Mullen as the cannibalistic Cass. I'd hate to see it slide into oblivion.. ESPECIALLY with my crappy computer's less-than-substantial sharing capabilities when I [REL]'d this file way back when...

Being an Irish film I thought it might be more readily available in Europe, [IE; amazon.co.uk / .de / .it, ect] but I wast wrong, meine Lieben!

Anyway, hopefully someone can breathe new life in this lost little indie film..
