Izulu lami (2008)

A young girl and her little brother leave their rural homestead for the city when they are orphaned, and meet up with a gang of street kids. Hoping to fulfill their mother’s dream, in the end they find their own.

Synopsis

Ten-year-old Thembi and her eight-year-old brother, Khwezi, are left alone in their rural homestead when their mother dies. All they have to remember Mama is a grass mat she wove, which she aimed to enter in a craft competition. Her dream, inspired by a visit to their village by a white priest from the city, was for the mat to win a prize that could support her children. So Thembi decides to take the mat to the competition herself, and Khwezi reluctantly goes with her. When the children arrive in the city they are spotted by a street-wise 12-year-old, Chili-Bite, and his gang. He offers them a place to sleep on the street and tells her of a friend who knows the priest – who turns out to be a sleazy pimp who aims to sell this rural girl’s virginity as a cure for AIDS. It is Thembi’s relationship with Khwezi that sustains her quest to fulfill her mother’s dream. When this bond between the siblings is broken, she succumbs to the grief that has been welling up inside her since her mother’s death. In her time alone she discovers her own dream and her own talent, then is able to reconcile with her new friends from the street, and with her little brother.

I managed to play it in Firefox so thank you but I still can't download it
I tried with getflv or streamtransport but but no luck :( because that country restriction
I suppose Stramtransport (more info about that program can be found here) can do it if you live in US or some other supported country (because Streamtransport can nothing to do woth those Firefox plugins and proxies).

Update: I discovered that movie is available at AOL too

Got the DVD a week or so ago. A very engaging story with kids that will rip your heart out by cuteness alone.. :heart

The DVD came with hard-coded English subs..

This film touches on some tough subjects; death of a parent, abuse within the family, street gangs, human trafficking, and handles each fairly realistically without getting overly graphic.. I enjoyed this movie alot! :heart

Kudos to original FLM founder 'Rich' [Peace to you, where ever you are...] for bringing this to our attention!! :thumbsup

Set to 'Power Share'. I'll leave eMule on as long as I can [I'm at my parents house and they have power flux'es that shut down the PC at times], and I'll keep checking it throughout the week to make sure it's still running.

(This movie could possibly appear at 'Uloz.to' in the next couple of weeks [for faster downloading]... )

No secret at all! :)

I ordered from a South African Internet company called 'One World Music':

http://www.oneworld.co.za/index.php?mai ... ts_id=6740

The cost was ZAR 109.99 which comes out to around $10.36 USD. I can't remember the specific shipping amount, but I think my total cost was somewhere between $18 to $20.00 USD. I made the order Sunday evening June1, 2014 and received a confirmation email on Monday June 9, 2014, a little over a week later.

I received the DVD sometime last week, so it basically took right around 3 weeks to get to me. As that was the calculated time on the website, I don't think it was an unreasonable amount of time at all..

I am very pleased with my transaction with this company, although I do remember having a little problem getting them to accept my shipping address and complete the transaction. Obviously that problem was surmounted as I they accepted my $$ and I did receive my movie. :)

I've dealt with 2 South African Internet companies over the last 2 years and have had good results from both.

(The first was a company called 'Take Africa Home' that sold me the DVD set for 'Safari Sisters';

http://www.takeafricahome.co.za/article/70.html

where I paid a total of ZAR 264.00 which came out to around $24.50 USD. It took me a little over a month to receive that order, if I remember correctly..)

I hope this information has helped you.
