I said my say because of the gun safety issue I saw in those pictures, and don't want to cause a political discussion because it'll turn into one side against the other. There are boards where this topic is the raison d'etre but it doesn't fit our main theme, and I'm afraid it'll quickly get out of hand because people are passionate in their feelings on either side of the issue. Besides, we're multinational and one country's laws aren't the same as another country's.

You might be surprised. There are more than 300 million firearms in the U.S. ;)

Exactly. Guns aren't going to protect you from the government when they have flying killer robots that can execute you from the sky (ie. drones).

IMHO some of the trouble could be mitigated by new laws determining accountability:

You leave your gun lying around; someone picks it up and kills someone with it; you go to jail as well.
Someone steals your gun and kills someone with it; you go to jail as well.
Someone kills you, takes away your gun and kills someone with it; they dig you up and kill you again. :D

FAA - Drones will soon (if not already) be availible to the public. Companies like Amazon are already making plans to deliver packages by drone. These are not weaponized, but just like anything can be modified.

Emular - welcome back - idiots like in the case you mentioned should absolutely be held responsible for being negligent and there are already laws at least in the U.S. to punish people like that. But theft is theft. If someones steals your car and runs people down or steals your kitchen knife and stabs someone, you should not be responsible.
