A Tragic Dilemma
A Tragic Dilemma
Shakespear says "To be or not to be this is the question"
Artorius says "Why in movies is much easy for a male to undress than a female? We're both humans"

Honestly, ART, I'd say the premise of your question is a fallacy..ARTHORIUS wrote:Artorius says "Why in movies is much easy for a male to undress than a female? We're both humans"
My experience with watching movies through the years has been that there is MUCH more female nudity shown in 'mainstream' films than male. ESPECIALLY 'full frontal' nudity. Even in 'Maladolescenza', [beyond the beginning clip with Fabrizio wrestling his dog, which was edited OUT of a few of the versions released], there is MUCH more female nudity between Laura and Silvia.

Govt and Church censorship has always been a factor, but I feel that directors [such as Ivan Noel] are finding creative ways around 'restrictions' and are making films that piss off the powers-that-be in spite of the limitations being placed on them.
I'd say 99% of the time when govt and churches step in and ban or protest against movies for whatever reasons they come up with, it only serves in making a particular film more popular or raise it to cult status..
kev.
Re: A Tragic Dilemma
Yeah kev i've understand but for example...i consider last period...u.s.a. movies is more difficult to find in a story of movie anyone can include a bath scene or a mirror scene seeing growning body than france movies or east europe. Same in italy there're 2/3 directors that are free to include these type of scenes. Then there're directors borderland that make indecent explicit movies how maladolescenza and others...
How it depends now? The fear for a director which censorship cut the scenes? The critics with kill the movie and the director? The people that are retro' and don't consider necessary to make these scenes in a movie?
Btw wait i am not want that in all movies are always the mentioned scenes but maybe only in certain type of movie can do it considering the fact that some scene during very briefly...some are flashbacks on photos are not really scenes...
For example in 30's of all movies of shirley temple (R.I.P.) i remember only one movie rff mentioned with ot scene.
in 40's and 50's veri little, 60's and 70's start to have much more but i think the great period is between 80's and 90's. Then in the last period the percentage is fall down.
Tha's my point of view.

Re: A Tragic Dilemma
The way I see it, it is a matter of what hangs out and what doesn't. Men don't have boobs (well, mostly
) so showing men topless is not a big deal. As for going bottomless, the usual female nude shows very little standing up (if she has hair she shows nothing at all
) whereas a man's parts will show, whether he has hair or not. Finally, you have the erect penis - not easy to keep it up through multiple takes. LOL
So, here's my definitive nudity list ranked by heirarchy:
male topless
female and male bottomless, rear
female topless
female bottomless, frontal, upright
male bottomless, frontal, non-erect
female bottomless, spreading
male bottomless, erect.

A friend here said I get too political so I tried to be brief without getting into specifics.
I am encouraged by directors like Noel and shows like Sparticus and movies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall all of which have recently broken boundries of male nudity. Woman have been accepted nude in film for a long time. In real life I am encouraged by Free The Nipple campaign and breast feeding campaigns that are being fought by women in the US to get woman the right to be topless in public like a man.
ps loved the comic mimzy
Re: A Tragic Dilemma
I actually thought the OP was about underage nudity. Of course it is difficult to find a French movie that does not have any naked women in it. Men's dongles are not something I want to see anyway. I think underage male nudity (at least not frontal) is more common than female nudity, because "boys will be boys". For example, in [REL] Správná sestka AKA Sechs Richtige (1992) TV series, only boys get fully naked. There are other examples, but I haven't done any real research.
Re: A Tragic Dilemma
Art did not specify that Mimzy but I agree in film boys are more naked then men. And girls are less naked then women.
Somebody once said on IMDb that there was more boys in film due to more male directors and writers giving there experiences, which include innocent things like skinny dipping.
