Here is a little trivia I just learned:
I have seen this movie about a half dozen times and never noticed before that a a big star of today had a small extra part in this. When Voight is first on the cruise he picks up on a girl and strikes out do to the fact that for one she doesn't speak English and second she is already with someone. A few times through out the film you see her briefly with this guy, just a glimpse but enough that I recognized him. After checking the credits sure enough it was 'Kevin Costner' listed as "Newlywed Husband'.
