Downloading Priorities

Post by rmt@36 »   0 likes

I don't know if this is a standard problem, but when it looks like the downloading is going to be finished soon.

It sort of stops and can take from 24-72 hours to finish downloading a movie with full sorces and the closer it gets to the end, under about 15-20mgs.

Is there a way of priority downloading those movies to finish them up quicker.

Or do I just have to be more patient.

Thanks for the help.

Right-click and set priority to high (in theory) but in practise don't think this affects much. REALLY bad when it gets to 99.9 and stops - happens a fair bit. Looks like the final part file is held not by that uploader so has to go searching agin.

Verdict: bumma

Sorry, billanben, that does nothing except change the way your client sends requests to servers looking for sources for your downloading files. To avoid blacklisting because of sending too much data at once to the server, your client sends requests for your downloading files in batches of 15 files at a time (assuming you have more that 15 files downloading). The downloading priority is simply used to decide which files go in the first batch, etc.

occationally i have sent messages out to people with the complete file and asked for a friend slot :eyecrazy ask about 50 people if there are that many sharing, it's suprising how many will oblige, just be polite :) :dance

Yeah kind of guessed didn't do anything to affect the real priority but I do it in hope some times :-)
