safeurl not working

Somehow the safeurl thing has stopped working on my PC. Could be my firewall, popup blocker, or Spyware Doctor, or just something in IE.
When I click an outside link, the browser loads the safeurl temp page, the banner ad doesn't load, and the target page is never visited.

Are you tied to safeurl in some way? Why not try http://anonym.to which is working pretty well for drunkendonkey.net?

Call me dim, but what was wrong with the old system of just having a direct link?

Half the time when I click on a link I never get the site I want anyway, I just get that irritating page repeatedly telling me to enter or leave or whatever it is, and around n around it goes.

Now I just alter the words in the address bar to get to where I want.

I don't know what's wrong with your settings. Safeurl is working perfect for me.
I will see if anonym.to is working.

You are linked through Safurl to block the referrer. In this way the website can't recognize, that it is called from first-loves.com. A bit of safety.

My gut feel is that the banner ad shown on the transition page is the cause of the problem. If the ad appears, the browser moves on to the intended destination, but if the ad doesn't appear (maybe blocked by one of my many security measures as being unsecure, or from a suspect site, or even if the ad serving site didn't respond in time), the transition page stays there forever.

Selecting the link by itself (deleting the safeurl bits) gets me to the desired page without problems, so that's what I'm doing now (copy/paste base link into new browser window).
