You don't need to have any account on eMule. It's for free, no registration at all!Eren_256 wrote:I don't have an account on eMule

Your loss, then.Eren_256 wrote:I once tried to download once and it did not work, I now only use a torrent
eMule has served this site excellently since before 2004. Just because you had problems ONCE in the face of an entire website where most of it's members have reaped the benefits of this tried and true P2P machine for years is no reason to whine and moan instead of politely asking for help and/or advice.
HELP
(For those too lazy to look..)

I'm not arguing maybe he's good eMule
Why only him?

Come on kev, be nice. Eren_256 is definitely not whining and moaning, he was just explaining why he did not use eMule when prompted by others. He has also contributed greatly by bringing ALOT of short films here. Anyone who wants to can ed2k them.kev wrote:Just because you had problems ONCE in the face of an entire website where most of it's members have reaped the benefits of this tried and true P2P machine for years is no reason to whine and moan instead of politely asking for help and/or advice.![]()
As much as I love eMule, if it had not worked for me when I first set it up after coming to FLM, I would have dropped it immediately and never tried it again. My rule has always been that the first installation has to work out of the box or it is useless for me. If it breaks later after I have seen how useful it is, then I can try to "fix" it. Just because some piece of software worked for somebody somewhere at some time in the past does not mean I need to make a huge effort to make it work for me. I can sympathize with anyone who can not handle frustrating software installations.
But you are absolutely right, kev, that there are a number of people here who ARE glad to help with eMule setups for those who actually want to make the sometimes considerable effort.

BTW: Many, MANY thanks for your recent contributions!Eren_256 wrote:I'm not arguing maybe he's good eMule

FOR THE RECORD:
In all actuality we have no problems with ANY link that's posted that will allow members to obtain relevant movies and short films that are out there.
However, through the years of experimenting with the differing P2P machines out there [Bittorrent among them] we've found eMule to be the most reliable and long lasting. Hence, as ghost said, we don't consider any particular thread an 'official' [REL] until someone makes an eMule link available. But again; ANY [safe, reliable] link is welcome to be posted in any thread that will facilitate the obtaining any particular film..
Hang out here for awhile, take time to read posts in the 'FAQ / Help / Newbie Guides', 'eMule Help/FAQ', 'General' and if you have some plausible ideas please check out 'Site Help & Development' and if they haven't been mentioned there, by all means post them.

1) He WAS kind of whining as he made a negative statement in his response to ghost citing 'complicated registration' then when ghost [I'm sure confused by his comment] stated that there 'is no registration', he came back with [the line that ticked me off] 'I tried it once, didn't work and now I only use torrent'. And as you see above in response to my [okay, yes it was a bit 'bitchy', but I've been kind of ragging it this week
2)Eren_256 has made around 4 posts back in 2021, but the rest of his 40 posts [at the time of my writing this] start from a few days ago, Feb. 16 till now when he started making his FABULOUS posts bringing our attention to a plethora of FLM relevant short films. My suggestion to him [as you see above] is to check out forums and threads that might help him navigate FLM easier and if he has suggestions that will improve our site, but all means please let us know.
I apologize Eren_256 [and Night457] if I came across as 'not nice'. I just wasn't in the mood to tolerate newbies fussing about eMule, when they really haven't dealt with it for an extended period of time... (OOOPS.. Is I gittin' harsh again?)
Seriously; Thanks again, Eren, for all that you are bringing to FLM! Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Don't let an old sourpus like Night4..
