uloz.to - As a download/upload site

Post by kev »   4 likes

I just came across one of an old post of mine and found I had this tag, pushing the uloz.to sites, at the end of it:
kev wrote:...(Seriously, [I know I've mentioned this before, but people don't seem to be taking heed] when I'm searching for movies uloz.to is one of my first stops. There's a LOT of hard to find material there... ;)

Other things I find appealing about the site:
* They have at least 5 urls [all with the same material] that you can download simultaneously from:
- http://ulozto.net [in English]
* It's a reliable site, [it's only gone down once for a few days in the two years I've been using it] and files download fairly quickly.

Now as far as security goes I can't vouch for that, other than to say that [again] I've been using it for 2 years strong without any problems.

kev.
In that post I state that I've been using this site for 2 [TWO] years. I made that post in 2015!

As it's now 2020 and I'm STILL using uloz on almost a daily basis, and never have had any security problems [MAJOR ones, that is], I'm going ahead and making this post to give it a page that can be referenced by members, new and old. :)

(I DO need to make an addendum to my statement of NEVER having any security problems: About 2 years ago, I was suddenly unable to reach ANY of the uloz sites. It was out-of-the-blue; one day I the site was fine and the next I couldn't access them. After discussing the problem with other FLM staff, I realized that the sites had been BLOCKED by my InternetServiceProvider for some reason. I found that getting a VPN solved the problem, and now after another 2 years of accessing the sites in this manner, I'm having no problems and no legal repercussions..)

All this to say; as an average compu-savvy person, I feel safe in utilizing the uloz links. I can't truly say that it's a safe option for everyone as THAT has to be each member's own personal choice, but it's worked well for me for over 7 years. 7 years. As fast as the internet changes and expands, I think THAT is pretty remarkable.

ALMOST as remarkable as FLM!! :D (Which has been around in one form or another since 2004!!)

My final little push for this site is for UPLOADING. I KNOW that FLM is primarily an ed2k site, but I would encourage members to take the time to upload onto uloz as their links are very reliable and fairly long lasting. I've uploaded a few titles there over these 7 years and to my knowledge, most are still available. (Popular, mainstream titles might need a little encrypting to NOT get taken down..)

I find that one of our members [jezevex, I believe] has a good method of posting his uploads somewhat encrypted: Instead of writing out the title of the film being posted he just puts the first letter of each of the words to the title. (IE: Mary Poppins = MP.1964, ect.) This makes it a little harder to track down more popular titles that might be prone to erasing by the internet police...

Anyway; go uloz!!!

In case newbies aren't familiar with uloz and can't figure out how to d/load from the site, it's sorta simple, even if you don't understand the language. And you do NOT have to join any of the sites to d/load for free....

When you find the film you want you click on the box with the cute little turtle:

Most of the time THIS should pop up: (SOMETIMES, if you're lucky, it goes straight to d/load. :) )

When it does, type in the letters of the code in the box to the open box below it..

When the download window link pops up; click 'OK'.

You should be on your way to d/loading a file from uloz.

(OH... You can also change the language on any page by clicking the flag icon at the top right-ish side of the page:

For English, obviously, click the Union Jack. :P )

Thanks, kev, for the list of alternate URLs. If one doesn't work, try another, and perhaps it will. E.g. in India, only uloz.to works, at least for me, so if I want to download a link that says something different, I have to edit the link to point to uloz.to, and then it works.

Why not use the English version of uloz?

Thanks for that one, all that Czech was getting to me. It's probably better to listen to it, I suppose. Also wanted to say that if you use old versions of Firefox, like, pre-52 or something, plus ABP or a script blocker, the ads are not so as many....
