[REL] Måske Ku' Vi AKA Could We Maybe (1976)
Re: [REL] Måske Ku' Vi AKA Could We Maybe (1976)
Java is not the same as JavaScript, just clarifying NoScript Firefox AddOn is Perfect for only allowing particular (Java)scripts. For example on sites like Forbes.com you will only allow Forbes.com and maybe 1-2 other scripts that are necessary for the website to display correctly - but the other 25 scripts that website wants to load (mostly) for tracking purposes can be blocked entirely. I admit it’s a trial and error with sites that load many scripts and especially when video playing is involved.
But after some time you have saved which scripts to allow and are still saver on all the random new websites you visit because JavaScript from random domains aren’t being loaded. And websites often load more quickly since less (unnecessary) stuff gets loaded.
Java is needed for local applications like JDownloader (which is why it can run on Windows, Linux, MacOS easily). The dangers a couple years ago came mostly from allowing & running Java within the WebBrowser (Java-Plugins) as far as I understand. Similar to the Flash-Plugin vulnerabilities.
Without NoScript you are always allowing websites to run their code (JavaScript) inside your browser on your computer. That comes with a certain malware risk. But yes, uBlockOrigin is the first and important step to prevent malware as well (coming from shady Ad networks)
I‘m sure Usenet would be content heaven for you, Night. But yes, paying for a flatrate account or block account (block account = you buy 500gb once and can use that account until you’ve used all GB’s of traffic; flatrate you can download unlimited for a monthly fee) is a requirement.
I guess that’s one of the reasons it is still far behind in popularity to stuff like torrents/p2p. But then again..some pay for the filehosts/alldebrid accounts. So another reason for less popularity is probably the technical knowledge required, although imho it’s far less complex than setting up eMule
I doubt Amzn,Netflix care about file names..or let’s just say p2p releases already include the source for years (AMZN.WEBRIP/NF.WEBRip). The scene is just very strict and sometimes extremely oldschool as well when it comes to rules of File names, let alone their strict encoding rules (which is why many people stick to higher quality p2p releases as scene releases must obey to the encoding rules (and therefore it’s limits) of the scene.

Re: [REL] Måske Ku' Vi AKA Could We Maybe (1976)
I vaguely remember using that!! Eventually I removed virtually all my Firefox Addons because the Addons themselves slowed down the browser. Maybe I should have kept that one.
I admit it’s a trial and error with sites that load many scripts and especially when video playing is involved.
Hmmm, that may be another reason I stopped using it. When I search for movies I can go through a hundred sites in a day, and I probably got tired of "teaching" the Addon. And then if I accidentally disallow a script that allows a site to function properly ... I have to figure out if the site is not working because of a problem with the site or with something I blocked.
Ah, I DO use that one. If there is some site function that does not work I can try turning it off for that site. A simple On/Off I can handle, it takes no brain power and forcing me to figure out what specifically to block and what not to.But yes, uBlockOrigin is the first and important step to prevent malware as well (coming from shady Ad networks)
You are absolutely right! The problem is I already have 1000+ unwatched movies from the past 20 months, so one way to limit my downloading is to only do free downloads. If I start spending money, then I don't know where I'll stop. (The poorhouse.) Plus, ghost and others end up resharing the best of the Usenet content anyway ...I‘m sure Usenet would be content heaven for you, Night.
Well, I DID manage to do that, but I was so much smarter back then. If I had to set up eMule AGAIN, I would probably have troubles. So another reason for less popularity is probably the technical knowledge required, although imho it’s far less complex than setting up eMule

Yes, I have now edited my post to include complete specifications in a spoiler tag:

I have to wonder if his file completed for anyone if it never completed for me, so I am not sure who could make the comparison. However, there is enough of a difference in size for them to be different in spite of the different ways of calculating GB across different platforms:

Spoiler:
My DANiSH.1080p.WEB-DL is 2minutes longer than the 1080p.WEB-DL I downloaded from some Russian site or one these Public torrents, but my danish web-dl only includes danish subtitles. Here’s the mediainfo. I do think visually my danish one might have some more pixels. Tiny bit more clear image.

The shorter version is 1 h 32 min 54 s 952 ms
and fades out after the song running over the closing scene.
The longer version is 1 h 34 min 8 s 40 ms
and continues with a reprise over black screen of the "Måske Ku' Vi" / "Maybe We Could" song that featured earlier in the film, just past 25 minutes in. The yts.mx file linked in goku's earlier post from January 30 is also the longer version. The NOGRP file mentioned in pillowbaker's Oct 31 post is also the longer version.
(There is no additional video, only additional audio.)

Re: [REL] Måske Ku' Vi AKA Could We Maybe (1976)
Thanks for clarifying, Night. This got me wondering, and I was curious about the different in length, but it I haven't seen this little classic yet and I was worried about spoilers while sifting through the scenes!
Re: [REL] Måske Ku' Vi AKA Could We Maybe (1976)
I was shocked at goku's news and wondered what would be missing. My first guess was some sort of post-credit sequence. There were no end credits, but I was otherwise correct. I can see someone preparing a video for streaming or torrenting and chopping off the end when they see black screen -- either accidentally or deliberately.
At this point, I myself had better admit to nothing.
