Marie and Aminthe, both unmarried and without children, live together in a house inherited from their grandfather. Aminthe lives in the shadow of Fabien, her fiance who died in Indochina more than fifty years. Marie, the eldest, likes to recall the happy days of their childhood - before they prematurely lost their parents. They live off their small pensions, vegetables Marie grows and sell in the market, and piano lessons given by Aminthe ... Not enough to keep their old house, poorly heated and whose roof needs to be replaced. But when Aminthe says they must sell it and buy an apartment, Marie refuses.
