the tweaks of fireball mod can surely be useful for normal members as well
There is a reason, why this special features are locked for normal users. With the wrong settings it can be very harmful for the ed2k network. So not everyone should use it.

Yes, idler. Thank you for your assistance. My server.met (844 Bytes), addresses.dat (0 bytes) and nodes.dat (4.88KB) files are corrupt.
I just found a file called "downloads.txt". It has my ed2k links in it. YEAH! I have 344 links in it.
If I copy this file to the new install AND copy the Temp file folder contents to the new install, will that be enough to resume my DLs as they were? A bunch are at 88-94% completed.

Thank you for ALL of your help.

Forget about the "downloads.txt", your eMule connections change every second.
The "Temp" folder is important; it should contain a bunch of .part, .part.met, .part.met.bak (for downloads several times resumed) etc. files: The .part files indicate the amount of already downloaded MB. Copy the whole content to the "Temp" folder of your new installation, that should work.

Your empty adresses.dat indicates that you never put in (with Windows Editor) any Internet adresses where eMule can get new server lists ("server.met"). Better google "server.met", choose one site - i recommend http://ocbmaurice.dyndns.org/pl/slist.p ... t?download - and make sure your eMule options are set to:

server>auto update server list at startup
server>update server list when connecting to a server
server>update server list when a client connects

For a start, run eMule, go here with your browser: http://ed2k.2x4u.de/index.html and click one of the "add to eMule" - links

If you prefer the Kademlia network instead of servers, you'll need a "Nodes.dat" of actually connected users that is sometimes updated. Set KAD>Nodes.dat from URL>xxx (http://nodes.applejuice-community.eu/nodes.dat, for example) or mark "from known clients".

That should make sure that all your adresses are always updated...

IDLER, YOU ARE THE MAN! (I presume). :icon_1dancingban Thank you VERY much for all of your time and assistance. I will try all of your reommendations and post my results here in a couple of days.

You spoke of the "Kademlia network". Is that something you prefer? what is it?

Also, This website take FOREVER to update a webpage. Are there settings that I can change to increase my speed? This does not happen with other websites. Thanks Again.

Idler,

You have been very helpful and more than gracious. Thank you for the reference.
I am curious as to if you use Kademlia yourself?

Many thanks.

You may say servers are faster finding sources, KAD is more reliable finding good sources. Servers are often the target of copyright agencies trying to spread fake files - well, nobody running a server bothers what people are going to offer. These fake files die very fast in the KAD system because most people want to verify what they are downloading.

I use both networks to get as many sources as possible - yes, that works - but when I use the search function with keywords, I prefer KAD - better results, less spam.

Most people here probably do...........no need to fully understand how it works!
Assuming amule uses roughly the same interface as emule, once connected to a server simply hit 'Bootstrap' in the kad menu & wait for it to connect. Some users may find they occasionally need to hit the 'Recheck Firewall' button.

No!! disable these features! You will get a lot of fake and unsecure servers!!

You only need about 5 good servers. Update your server.met from http://peerates.net/servers.php

Nope. Of course, you only need a few servers, but you should have a choice. Normally, you sort your servers for the number of users or the number of files and chose one of the top. To filter the ip of fake servers, you insert a "filter.dat" into your security settings; you can update it, for example, here:
http://emulepawcio.sourceforge.net/nieu ... filter.zip

As for the settings for updating servers, here the official recommendation of eMule-project:
