Any chance of an upgrade on this?

Re: [REL] Jauche und Levkojen (1979)
As I think you know, the DVD version of the episode "Wildwuchs" is heavily censored (about 5 minutes missing).Any chance of an upgrade on this?
The original VHS version is lost forever, I think. On emule there are the central 9 minutes of the uncensored version.
I'm not good at creating videos, but it would be nice if someone inserted those 9 minutes into the censored version so we can have the whole version again.
Re: [REL] Jauche und Levkojen (1979)
Are you SURE about this? You are talking about the 9 minutes from the two men playing chess through to the girl riding away on her bike and ringing its bell? That footage is in the version I have.BugMeNot9999 wrote: Thu Nov 28, 2024 2:52 pm As I think you know, the DVD version of the episode "Wildwuchs" is heavily censored (about 5 minutes missing).

Children in Cinema - Jauche und Levkojen - uncut vhs.mp4
The two minutes at the beginning of the VHS with girl and grandfather meeting in the field is not in the DVD presentation, which instead has a narrator discussing previous events. I think that two minutes is in the DVD's previous episode, but I do not have that anymore and I do not understand German so I don't know what he is saying.
But for the "9 minutes" I played the two side-by-side. The DVD scenes were actually longer by about 30 seconds but it seemed to be only from a few frames here and there. Either that, or one of them was not exactly 25fps as claimed.
See the first post in this thread by Detzneff and make sure you have
05.Wildwuchs.avi [226.25 Mb]
I just downloaded it again from eMule today so it IS shared. Compare it to your Children in Cinema uncut vhs and verify that the DVD avi has the footage you want integrated into the episode. I am pretty sure that AVI is complete. It has the girl pretending to drown (which interests me) and that damn horse f***ing scene (which does not interest me).
Please respond once you have compared, as I am wondering if I am overlooking something.

Yes, I'm sure. The scenes are also in the censored version, but they are edited.
Please look at the file 'Children in Cinema uncut vhs' and you will see that some moments are not present in the censored version:
00:00 - 02:07
03:03 - 03:21
06:07 - 06:12
06:36 - 06:37
08:57 - 09:17
10:39 - 10:40
10:48 - 11:08
To reconstruct the complete unedited file, the following segments should be joined:
- 05.Wildwuchs.avi [226.25 Mb] from 00:00 to 02:04
- file Children in Cinema uncut vhs
- 05.Wildwuchs.avi [226.25 Mb] from 12:03 to the end

Re: [REL] Jauche und Levkojen (1979)
NOW I see, thank you! I had seen both files before but I did not notice these differences. Even watching them simultaneously I could only see that they got out of sync with each other repeatedly and I would pause one to get them back in sync. (With a minute's difference in footage I must have done my math wrong because I only calculated about 30 seconds difference from the total. Maybe one of them is actually 25fps from a 29.97 source without changing the speed, and that affected it.) I appreciate this level of comparison detail.

Re: [REL] Jauche und Levkojen (1979)
These cuts are the reason why the DVD version of this episode is much shorter than all the others (which are about 25 minutes long each). By the way, I don't understand why the first scene I indicated (00:00 - 02:07) was cut. It doesn't seem to me to contain, unlike the others, anything explicit (maybe something in the dialogues?)NOW I see, thank you! I had seen both files before but I did not notice these differences. Re: [REL] Jauche und Levkojen (1979)
Because of that I thought maybe it was a leftover from the previous episode. Maybe there was a broadcast where it was NOT separated into half hour episodes, but instead either as multiple movies or as hour-long episodes? That would probably eliminate much of the narration that catches up viewers on the previous episodes and would instead let scenes flow continuously. But I did not download episode 4 so I could not verify that guess.
Now that you mention it, I remember now that episode was mysteriously shorter.

The whole series is on youtube (of course episode 5 is censored there too)

That makes it easy to see that I was wrong about episode 4 also: I don't see those 2 minutes in the field at the end of it either.

Could you share the links? A single emule link containing all episodes?Night457 wrote: Fri Nov 29, 2024 3:36 am That makes it easy to see that I was wrong about episode 4 also: I don't see those 2 minutes in the field at the end of it either.
