Ghee, Phuzzy...the message says that somebody is trying to download a file...what kind of file is left to the imagination of the reader...the sender pretends to use a program...what kind of program (Flashget? eMule? BitTorrent?) is left to the imagination of the reader...the sender pretends to have edited his post (really?)...he tells a story of blue and grey stripes...ooops! somebody should tell him about the red stripes he forgot to mention...

Can't afford even a cheap used car right now. :) I guess I'm too much of a softie. For someone so eager to get this file "for a class at school", he hasn't been back to see if someone replied. There would have to be some mutual benefit before I spent my time and limited bandwidth uploading anything on FLM somewhere else unless it was one of the regulars who asked me to do it - and that's not really likely to happen, is it? ;)

I did come back and see if someone replied. I followed all the emule advice from the links you gave me. Still didn't work. I am so terribly sorry if I suck too much at computers, but I just couldn't get it too work. So I gave up and decided to forget about the whole thing.

I came back now because I have a test tomorrow in my french class regarding this. It might help me quite a bit if I was able to download it and watch it. But then, you will probably tell me I'm just a lazy newcomer and you can't help me. I guess I will waste a couple more hours trying until I give up once again.

I would suggest that even if you get eMule working correctly you've left it too late for your French test tomorrow........ed2k doesn't happen that quickly.
If you can progress beyond our tame 'used car salesman' you'll find us quite a helpful bunch, certainly towards those who are willing to help themselves. Try to be more specific about your problems & in particular whether you are connectable or not & I'm sure someone will try to help you. This file is certainly available...I see at least 12 full sources.
@idler..........could you forward details of your used car stock list 'cos I've just smashed mine up!

I finally managed to get the download started. albeit very slowly at 10kb. Yup I'm screwed.

Though, I would really appreciate it if someone could lend me a hand in getting me up front in the queue a little... as most of the sources other than the one I am currently downloading from are either full queue or a QR: thousands...

@idler
What kind of sarcasm is that? I don't want to antagonize anyone, but I have to say, it is quite sad.

I refuse to ride your guilt trip train. I've tried to help but all I get back from you is "it doesn't work and I need that file". Sorry if your feelings are hurt, but "So what?" If it's for a test tomorrow, you already waited too long. Even if you got eMule working at 100% this instant, you wouldn't have time to download it and I'm not wasting my evening uploading it somewhere else.

If you want help getting eMule to work, drop the BS now - we're not going to spoon feed files to you. Tell us what you've done, what happened (or didn't happen) when you did it, and any particulars that might give a clue where the problems lie so we can help you figure out the solution.

Hmmm, I see you got it to start downloading at 10kb. That's actually fairly respectable for eMule and indicates that eMule itself is good to go but is being choked at the modem. Check port forwarding before you change anything else.

What about a Mercedes Smart Fortwo Cabrio for smart people? Cheapest way to drive a Cabrio during the summer. Russell Crowe drove one, in "A Good Year"...
Right now, he has some 40 MB. I'll do my best, but I doubt wether this can be finished until tomorrow morning. Anyway, the movie isn't really useful as preparation for a French test. The sound track is very poor, and you need good ears and an excellent French knowledge to understand the dialogues.

I hope nobody was hurt. I just had to buy my wife a new car. Geez, I've been married 16 years and she's had 3 new cars while I've had to make do with old used clunkers. What's wrong with this picture? :wall
