Well thanks again, DreamScape! I remember the film poster of this one, but for some reason, despite knowing it was something I'd probably enjoy, I never downloaded it.

We could try to OCR the subtitles. I hope the quality of the letters is good enough.

DreamScape's file was letterboxed. I fixed it.

If you'd like some help with the subs, let me know if you'd like me to pitch in. I've never OCR'ed before, but I can help with missing words and lines if you would like.

As a proof of concept, I tried watching the first bit of this movie with two instances of VLC on: one with the upscale, and one of the VHSrip with hard English subs playing just below the upscale. Even though they displayed different FPS, I was able to get them frame perfectly synced by pausing/playing. I figured, if I needed to, I could watch the movie this way without spoiling it first.

Maybe ghost has better software. But my experience with those VHS rips is the subtitles just need to keyed by hand

Unfortunatly VideoSubFinder can't recognize the letters (damned VHS). It only gave me the timecodes. I really have to type the subtitles by hand.
So it will take some days...
