I know that in France, it happens that the dubbing of a film is the property of a private company and some publishers are reluctant to pay additional rights to add the French track on dvds/blurays (especially for non-French editions). Regarding "Cosi Come Sei", I don't remember seeing it in French but it would be surprising if a French dubbing didn't exist given the links between Marcello Mastroianni and France where the Italian played in many films (and even blistered Deneuve ).

The French are very proud of their own language and French music and resist American influence on society. Some countries subtitle American films - France maybe do occasionally - but they prefer dubs. So not surprising they own the rights to their own dubs. I think it's maybe because they, like America can go on holiday in their own country if you want skiing or beach holidays - they don't need to leave their borders. Don't have to go abroad, experience other cultures. They also have had a revolution so are always worried about protests. If there's anything that's not liked the lorries and tractors come out, do a go-slow, and block the roads!

Do you mean even more than Quebecers ?

Here she is again with the French dubbing, the beautiful Nastassja Kinski, a minor while she plays a major one, who seems very comfortable in nude scenes. She appeared naked even in "specialized" magazines at that time, morals have changed a lot...

I am OH SO HAPPY to be able to eat my words here! I am glad that you were persistent and able to find a French-audio version, Dave. Congratulations! Even though I have already downloaded way too many versions of this already, I will happily add your French version to the bunch.

In fact, it was rather the film that found me, I didn't look for it. It's nice to have chance sometimes.

The synchronized French subtitles, I looked for them though. I like to do things completely.

I assume the French subtitles you found are French matching the French audio rather than a translation of the Italian. By any chance was it one of the versions at opensubtitles.org, or did you find them at another site?

Yes at opensubtitles.org, with some minor improvements.

You should do a Remux. I now have a file of the movie with 3 languages and subtitles .

I'm unfortunately unable to at the moment, but if anyone can purchase from here, I think this version is genuine HD and not just an upscale like the crummy Blu-ray

So I was able to get a copy with what looks to be the same HD print from Spanish Prime Video. It had both Spanish and Italian audio, but I only kept the latter. I'll see about syncing subtitles with it and uploading
