Actually that one little scene needs to bee tucked in the back of your mind as you watch the rest of the movie. What's it called?

Oh, yeah: That's right...

Wow! Just finished watching this and felt compelled to come to FLM and post as I finally have something positive to say about a film. Sorta.

Honestly THIS movie worked for me as a heavy drama with fantasy elements thrown in. What's cool is it sorta fits the 'Folk Horror' genre; feeling like you're watching the life of an old Celtic seaport village. Minus the 'horror'. AND everyone speaks with Canadian-American accents.

Alix West Lefler in the role of the adolescent Isla, is a central character, but it's not her story.

She cute, not aggressive, and despite her abilities, she's pretty much a normal kid.

The King Tide is a story about a village that is blessed with a miraculous discovery that changes the townsfolk's lives for the better. And lengths they will go to selfishly keep these blessings only for themselves.

Somber and a little slow-paced, it managed to keep my attention to the end. And WOW! What didn't work in other movies I've seen recently, worked for me here.

I really need to stop posting late at night as I tend to imagine my thoughts hold more leverage than they possibly ever should.. I need to practice a bit more moderation as I also tend to want to tell everyone my favorite gibblets 'n' bits of whatever film is presently holding me in it's sway..

While 'The King Tide' is by far not the best movie I've ever seen, it IS one of the better one's I've seen this year.

Even though it didn't spend a lot of time creating much depth and empathy for Isla's character, I still cared enough about her to bee concerned for her welfare. There are only a couple of scenes that really have seemed to stick with me, but I'll probably carry those for quite awhile. In fact, I feel like 'The King Tide' impacted me more than a movie I was quite taken with back in July; ' Lord of Misrule (2023)'. I liked the way this film ended a lot more.

Anyway Night, when you DO get a chance to watch 'The King Tide', if you find the time (or even remember to) come back and check that second little spoiler in my last post. I'd bee interested to see if you might agree...

Oh, I think I know a few people who might be the same. I might even be like that myself sometimes. But when I am honest with myself I know that I am only really talking TO myself, trying to formulate what I actually think for my own benefit. I don't think there is anything wrong with that. I don't insist that anyone take what *I* say too seriously.

Still, although MOST spoilers I can read without problem, I CAN take someone at their word when they say that they REALLY REALLY MEAN IT THIS TIME.

I am not confident in my memory, but who knows... And you are deliberately reminding me of why I might BEE afraid to watch it! That will just make it longer to get around to actually seeing it.
