Yes it is. You can simply change the txt extension to srt & it should work.
However (as emuler points out) it's almost as quick to import in to Subtitle Workshop to check the properties (in this case against the French srt file also contained in the archive)

OK, thanks for explanation, and thanks for the Usenet hint! I will probably download that myself, because hardcooded subs is not good (unfortunately it was the only option few years ago when I got the DVD). Hmm, wondering if it is OK to pirate if I already bought the DVD once :think

Not that they're always entirely accurate but the nfo makes no mention of subs....... :think

While external subs are almost always text files with a diiferent extension, there are several different formats floating around, the most common two being .sub and .srt (not to be confused with the .sub and .idx files that are not text files.) If you are trying the renaming trick and renaming to .srt doesnt work, try .sub instead.

The import method avoids all these issues. Subtitle Workshop is smart enough to figure it out and convert to .srt if necessary.

Thanks for subtitle tips! I haven't used Subtitle Workshop before, but I will try it next time I need to work with subs.

BTW, I noticed that there are two region 2 DVDs with this movie (in addition to the French releases without subs), both released around the same time by Artificial Eye, with different run time (112 vs. 117 minutes). Wondering if one version comes without the bath scene :think

oh nice, thank you

But does a 1080p official version exist (WEB-DL or smth)?

If not, I'd take the ai upscale but this sounds like a movie that would already have a 1080p version out there somewhere

I do not think that our accomplished AI-Upscalers here would make the effort if an official FHD version was already available! But I have noticed that sometimes an official version appears later when the movie owners "play catch up" with what the fans have already done. Maybe they watch these sites to see what movies people are still interested in?
