Why is this happening? My user didn't work yesterday, but today it works perfectly. Some days ago, it was also a hazzle to get in. but luckily my account didn't get deleted as of some of the other users.

2 suggestions:
1. Daily backups; new backup for each day, compressed if necessary to save space. That way you can go back in time to when everything was fine. Only newer posts will be lost or need to be fixed by hand.
2. A mass mailer script; send an email to all the members telling them that the site is having problems. I triple checked my system, security settings, firewall, antivirus, anti spyware, three browsers.... finally I thought the site had been closed down by the authorities. I didn't realize how much I'd miss this site until I had to do it for real for a week.
