Hi EM - that's a fair point but version 0.47c is rock solid stable - even handles crashes pretty well, and after reading about 0.48a, no REAL reason to upgrade, not going to massively improve performance, searchability nor deal with any gaping holes. Thanks for all your responses.

I upgraded to 48a and I have no issues, with it what so ever.
It actually runs a little bit better than 47c, with less freezing and other problems like that.
I had to close my emule before I integrated the new one and it had no problem with my settings and temp folders or anything.
For those that are willing I recommend it.
Just my two cents worth.

Persuaded - backing up downlaods.txt first though

Best to backup your config folder. Contains important stuff like your settings, userhash, credits, etc.

Done with no apparent issues. Important thing is to accept default shared locations, suspect that problems occur if you don't - you would then have to ensure the settings were overwritten in correct user profile.
Anyway, thanks to DB and particularly EM for their advice.

And one other (I suspect very) important thing - apologies to EM ifalready covered. At the end of the install, you are presented with the Wizard - I suspect this will just display your current settings and ask if you want to keep them, but to be on the safe side, I cancelled out of this and then confirmed all settings were correct.
