Alright, I happen to know that "TNT" is https://the.nextthing.club/

But for me and anyone else who does not know, what is BK ? Burger King? Really, I notice many people here like to use our secret codes (myself included!), but it does not help in sharing with those who are not "in the know".

I may very well have been to the BK site (whatever it is), but I am drawing a complete blank!

GROOOOOOOAAAAANNNN!!! :huh

Of course. A site I have been to many times, logged in to many times, and taken files from many times. I believe I have also posted some links to it here at FLM.

Thank you very much for the clarification!

It turns out that ferdi's blizzardkid link included Uloz as a source for the Swedish-language DVDrip.

Synced English subtitles:
Mästerdetektiven.och.Rasmus.1953.DVDRip.English.zip
|
Subtitle notes:
Spoiler:

Based on a radio play and having four young heroes meant alot of talking to go with the action. The Swedish subtitler simplified things by omitting about a third of the dialog at times! The story is still perfectly understandable even when someone's response gets left out of the English translation, but it can be a little jarring to hear talking that is ignored in the subtitle.

It seems that a year ago I ripped my own DVD, OCRd the Swedish subtitle, machine-translated and corrected it ... and then neglected to share the result at FLM! Hmmm. In the time since I have probably further developed some of my ideas about Swedish-to-English translation, but I have left it as is with only a few minor edits. I just enjoyed watching it again.

The 720p German dub has a superior image to the 576 Swedish DVDrip, but with different runtimes I will not try to do a compress/stretch remux. I was also unable to sync the subtitles to the German version, so it may be a slightly different edit.

The children speak a little of their private code language in this. I remember rereading the parts of the books about this and examining the Swedish subtitles to properly decipher the code, and then applying the code rules to the English translation.
576p DVDrip, Swedish with optional internal Swedish subtitles and external English subtitles:

That is basically what I suspected, but I did not want to do an intensive comparison. Thank you for confirming! I noticed that I could get the subtitle to sync for awhile with the German, but checking a later scene it might be a second off.

Oh yes, I notice that all the time in dubs from around the world!

Not only where they don't speak.

This one has at least a few fun seconds that the 1.82GB 720p German version does not.
