I just finished the SVCD.

Hey ART, what did you do with this DVD? Sorry, but quality really sucks.
What software did you use?

Everything is almost fine, as long there is no motion in the picture..
But then:

Maybe you could do this again in DivX or Xvid format? VCD and SVCD are relicts from the stoneage

It needs to be deinterlaced

Try AutoGK. It does a good job and it is very easy to use.

You would probably have to decompile the file first into an uncompressed avi, then re-encode it with a deinterlacing filter. There will be quality loss with this method though, and it doesn't always work. Much better to work with the MPEG-2 source.

If you wanna get good results:

Rip the main movie with DVD Decrypter to your harddrive.

Use AutoGK for encoding to AVI.

Both programs are freeware and much better

I actually found superdvdripper fine for making avi's, but its obviously not so great for SVCD's.

I do agree that AutoGK is very good.

Isn't there a setting for 'deinterlace source video'? Most proggies have it.
