Sorry to read about the problems you are having.

I know all about the woes of external hard drives, having had 4 fail on me.
Seagate / Western Digital / Maxtor & Freecom.
Freecom lasted the longest at just over 1 year, and the other three lasted a combined total of 1 year, with Maxtor lasting less than a month lol.
All were well looked after, and neither were in mobile use, they just sat on my desk.

Roll on the day solid-state fast high capacity externals become the norm.
Until then I won’t ever trust an external!

Of course not everyone has a choice I guess

I hope you manage to rescue your stuff, as I know the pain in losing movies that werent backed up!!

Looking forward to those releases

Well here we go, I am starting up again. Hoping it works now that I seem to have my computer problems fixed.

Unfortuntely, I lost about 250 gbs of movies, when my external hard drive that I was using for my emule downloads, stopped working. I can't get into it to get the movies and stuff out of it.

CRAP ( I had some good titles in it)

So I will be downloading small amounts from my desktop and a laptop that I won, from a draw at work.

so be patient with my computer and me, while I try to catch up on all of those awesome releases over the last few months.

Well it hasn't been a great year for me with health and computer problems.

I had won a laptop last summer and was using it as well as my PC. Then two days ago I had just done a system registry scan, and after that I was using webroot window washer to clean my slack space when my computer shutdown and all I get is a Read Disk Error.

I can do the "cntrl, alt, delete, and I get into the main page where the computer is to boot up., I can get into f2 system setup. But then when I get out all it does is go back to disk error.

So again I will be off line for a while.


It is also THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN My job will be taking me away for the summer. I will be gone till about September. I leave in less than two weeks. Hopefully I will have better luck when I get back, as I have some movies to release but have been hampered by my computer problems this year.

I will check in once or twice before I go, and hopefully I can get my laptop fixed before the summer or it will be another long and lonely summer.

Here's the update, I lost everything on my laptop and have been putting programs back on it. But lost all of the downloads I had. Which just sucks.

It just doesn't seem to be the same since! I had a problem with my computer freezing when I had to more than one program running on the internet at the same time. I believe I just got it fixed.

With all of that, a few months ago my service provider updated their lines and subsequently the internet started to fail.

7 houses in less than a block had the same problem, it technicians and line men at least a week to fix the lines. Eventually they just pulled out the lines and put a whole new set of new ones in.

Things now seem to be working okay now.

AND

Tomorrow I leave town for the summer and probably won't be on line till September.

Its nice how it all seems to work out, so when I get back I will have all of the posts of the last 2 months plus the next 2 months of downloads, Yeh Me!

So I would like to be one of the first to wish all a Happy and Safe Summer, and see you in September.

I will have a couple of drinks for you.

Hi all

Well I am back from the summer, certainly was an interesting one for me.

I have been spending the last little while since I came back going over about 900 posts that were given to us by the posters all summer.

Thank you all for the incredible offerings that were posted this summer.

I will see what movies I bought this summer that are worthy to post.


(Unfortunately I did lose files programs and the like, I had only backed up some stuff not all of it.) What sucks is the computer doesn't feel right the way it use to be.

I did find out my system mechanic program was the cause of my system crash. They e-mailed me and said they had a problem which caused my problem, (of course it was a non-reply e-mail).

And all they offered was an apology and a discount on another of their product.

Oh well lesson learned.

I hope everybody had a great and enjoyable summer.

And thank you to all that helped me get my downloads so fast it is very much appreciated.

Now I guess it is time for happy hunting to get the next batch of movies we all can enjoy.
