LOL Rich! You forgot to mention blindly toeing the American line.
Case in point: The BBC movie review programme used to pronounce Cannes correctly (to rhyme with barn). Then they noticed that the Americans were pronouncing it as 'can'. So after a while the BBC too started calling it 'can'.
Some time later, the Americans started using the correct pronunciation. Wonder what the BBC will do now.
No wonder the French hate them both.
