This 'boy' looks so much like a girl that for all practical purposes she is. I find it some what amusing that both blizzardkids and the old boyscouts site whose focus is only on boys love this girl film.

It is definitely a BOY. First of all his name is LOUIE. Also, there are numerous times you see a newspaper i a store or a news broadcast that mentions the man has kidnapped his SON. There is a bath scene but nothing is shown. The way he dresses could be taken either way nowadays , but the two play together and rough house like it is a boy. This is not always true, but fathers usually play with their sons differently than daughters, a least in the U.S..

Fantastic movie with cute kid that gets lots of screen time.

At that age there is little difference except in dress and mannerism. Technically a boy but I stick by my original statement that he is a girl in this movie and if he was here in America would have aspirations to be in a future cast of Glee.
