Clearly you and I are seeing very different things here. Everyone's wearing period costumes but you can definitely tell she's 100% pure female (we see enough of her
). Keep in mind that some of the same styles drag queens are wearing now are the way "working girls" used to dress back in the 19th and early 20th centuries, when this movie is set.

Watch carefully.
As was done sometimes; this movie must have been shot in dual languages..
Read their lips: The actors are most definitely speaking English in a LOT of the scenes, no matter how bad the audio sounds..

This is the only bluray release, and it has no Italian dialogue track. Maybe if you find a version with Italian audio
and it's of decent quality
and you can sync it to the 1080p file then you could have an HD Italian version. I don't have another version to pull the audio from though. Sorry.
