I have always used Azureous, and when starting a new torrent it would take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes to allocate the new files and write them to all 0s. I remember zeroing the file was a setting I had made.

I just switched to uTorrent since I joined TheBox and wanted to be able to seed several torrents with lower overhead. When I start a new torrent now, it starts immediately, no time at all spent writing the files.

My conclusion: uTorrent creates the properly-sized file, but doesn't bother to overwrite what was already on the disk in that space.

As to Lazytown: I've seen this on US TV, in English, didn't realize it was foreign. (Didn't watch very long I admit).

No problem!......if required I can just 'slip' a 15.6gb release in amongst my other releases. ;)
Completion on this doesn't look like it'll be a problem but I'm doing my seed-dance just in case!

Wow, if this is possible under Windows (eg., not caused by severe file-system corruption), it would be a "little" security problem. This feature could be used to read possibly sensitive data of other users in the system. And what if you accidentally share an incomplete file, which was created on a disk area where your personal mailbox was located...

I configured my eMule client not to pre-allocate files, because I have lots of files in my download queue that will probably never complete, and it would be a waste to allocate disk space for all of those, but when I read those files, then non-allocated blocks show up as sequences of null-bytes. Such files are BTW called "sparse files" in Unix.

I've now completed the torrent I posted the link to. While the torrent is still alive & well seeded I don't see the point in clogging up my resources with 52 separate episode releases........notwithstanding the fact I suspect after viewing a couple the novelty will wear off for most here.
The torrent is 15.6gb but well seeded.......even with my crap bandwidth I completed this in well under 4 days.
I'm releasing the first episode as a taster & would suggest leaving it at that. Should the torrent 'die' I'll obviously have a re-think.

Great. :thumbsup I'm at 36% at the moment, fingers crossed, but you're right, it looks like a healthy torrent. :clap

I'll select some of my favourite episodes and release when I have completed this. :)

Note: this series is targeted at small children who find it quite addictive. :wall Not much in it for adults, unless you are suffering from burnout and need to watch something ultra light for a change. :cool

That said, some of the songs are quite catchy. :thumbsup A little too catchy sometimes. People look at you funny if they catch you humming , for example, Stinky's 'Mine' song. :bigups :blush

This mailbox is mine
And this triangonal sign
The blue balloon, the month of June
They’re mine, mine, mine, mine, mine

Ziggy’s sweets are mine
That birdy’s tweets are mine
The city streets, and both of your feet
They’re all emphatically mine

It all belongs to me
Everything that I see
North, South, East and West
I caress it, ‘cause I possess it
I’m Stingy and it’s mi-i-ne

And this instrumental break is also mine

The floor and the ceiling are mine
All your feelings are mine
You always knew it,
That’s all there is to it
It’s mine, mine, mine, mine, mine

That’s what I said: “It’s mine!”
