Had a shock when I got home from work - Malwarebytes reported most of the .dll files in DreaMule's plugins folder as trojans. I'm a little skeptical they all suddenly became infected when nothing else on my system is affected and they passed muster before today (and I run full antivirus and antimalware scans every day), but I don't like to take chances. So, DreaMule is gone and eMule is installed. Very simple 10 minute install and setup, five minutes to hash files, and I'm back online.

I was a little leery of DreaMule when I first installed it because it jumped to a web page that showed "news" every time it started or you un-minimized it. I put that site in my HOSTS file right away and didn't detect any other obvious "phone home" traffic, but it's hard to tell with all the other eMule-related traffic. Your mileage may vary, but I won't use DreaMule again.
