Just the upper one.

my pics can be seen - NO image server used, JUST the LMA links, which are DIRECT.

PTG uses an image server, which CANNOT be seen by evryone!
No offense PTG but yr pix do not show up in my browser..

They show up either broken, or only by selecting the links
JUST like was pointed out.

Please don't take it as offense bcus it was not intended like that!
Actually in going back and looking, you are right popdrome, it was ptg's pix that I couldn't see not yours...

I don't remember the other threads where I couldn't see certain pix, but there have been others of late. Certain pix are perfectly viewable while some show as 'broken'...

Maybe it is my browser, maybe not..

here is the original image that was not seen by hot linking from our image host

doing what FLL suggested works but only for the person doing it and not for anyone else.

a long time ago we could post a larger image with this site but because of bandwidth issues this option was disabled. this was before broadband was the norm. anybody remember dial up? 56k? 2 minutes or longer to load a page! I thought I had worked around this by hot linking the image from postimage itself. the thing I did not count on was no one until today mentioned that it wasn't working.

the solution: I used another image host for the larger picture as I had been in the past. perhaps Ghost can change the service we have now back to having the larger picture option.

Thank you FLL for splitting this from the other thread. we tend to clutter up releases to often with irrelevant matters. :blush

FLL wrote: Seriously though, most of your screencaps posted lately have been broken. Just going down the first page of your posts by author I see broken images at https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... ght=#46929 and https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... ght=#46836 and at https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... ght=#46832 .
should be fixed now.

let me know if something is still broken :cool

That is clearly wrong.

I am not saying that everyone can always see links posted the way I described, but I know for a fact that some browsers/machines/IPs other than the originator can see those links. In my limited testing I have not yet found one which failed. I suspect postimage assigns one URL when uploading and sometimes moves the image a little later and then leaves it alone, but I can't prove that.

56K had long stopped being the standard when FLM was founded in 2004. I don't remember any such picture posting option at FLM, perhaps you are thinking of another site?

Not really what most would call a solution to the problem, more a "workaround". It's a solution like when your mechanic tells you your engine problems have an easy solution, just buy a new car ;)

I am glad you have figured out how to post reliable full sized screencaps, so we can move on. But I still personally believe thumbnails work much better as the bulk of the screencaps in a post.

first off we both think we are right and that is not good as we are also both stubborn. I more than you so I will work on giving in more. I don't care if I found a solution or if you or someone else does. I am not playing any games here. simply trying to present good releases from time to time. I will be mindful about using more thumbnails than larger pictures. it is less trouble.

perhaps I was thinking about the different postings options was from another site. I do remember it though. my long term memory has been troublesome lately so you might be right. only problem with that is I was told by another admin this dis-enabling happened. :think

perhaps another solution could be instead of fixing our posts (frequent contributors only) PM us with the problem and offer a solution so we can fix the posts ourselves.(less work for you as a bonus) I am not lazy and have no problem fixing my posts if I can. :cool
