no, just unusual. the movie looks like it would belong and I think it was brought up here in another thread a while back.

it is the robot reference that is different and raised questions. I do not see a problem as of yet.

as to your original question: nothing made recently comes to mind but I do remember some old sci-fi movies that may of had such a character. do a search cross referencing girl robot with science fiction movies that may bring up something for you.

This was mentioned in another thread earlier this year and I remember searching for it a few times. It premiered on the festival circuit in September and is still currently being shown at festivals around the world. Unless they are really on top of trying to get this released to a mass market it probably won't be on dvd for several months. Hopefully I will be proved wrong like the Texas Killing Fields popping up early.

I downloaded a cam version of this but it was fairly poor quality (someone filmed it in a theater with a video camera). The picture is stable but it has a flicker (probably the camera frame and the film frames did not match up) and there are no subtitles. If someone really wants this version, I can post it, but I would recommend waiting for a better version.

Blu-ray will be released April 18th. Spanish with English subtitles.
