Yes, that's the big downside for non-VPN users. Pixeldrain only slows down. When you hit MEGA's roughly 5 GB limit the next file will not download and you have to wait for the quota to refresh before you can continue.

Mega - generally has the fewest complaints, good speed, reasonable retention. The drawback is mostly on needing accounts to upload.
Pixeldrain - if you plan to download more than ~10 GB a day you'll want a VPN. Great retention though. 4 months from the last download could potentially stay online for year+. Also requires an account to upload.
Buzzheavier - allows anonymous uploading and files stay online forever. However, their ads are so bad they literally have a warning on their own site about them. People who don't use ad blockers need to be careful.
Gofile - fast and easy to use. However, files are deleted in only 10 days. Still, if you plan to share just long enough for someone else to take over via emule, gofile might be an okay choice.

I like the MEGA desktop app. Queue up your downloads in that and if the daily quota gets exceeded it will continue where it left off when the quota resets.
Pixelview no longer works in my country.
Workupload and Mediafire are also decent alternatives. I'm not a heavy downloader so I haven't hit their limits yet.

Hi , i need your help buddy to set up emule on my android device.thecyanray wrote: Fri Nov 01, 2024 10:03 am Quick notes for future mobile users looking forhighID
This is tailored towards AirVPN, but the process is similar for other VPNs. One potential difference is that the VPN changes your active port number when you disconnect and reconnect (this is the case with ProtonVPN on desktop, I don't know if any mobile VPNs do this), so you'll need to change your listening port on Mule each time; AirVPN assigns you a static ports, so they'll be with you until your subscription with them ends - much more convenient.
1. You can open ports on airvpn.org/ports/ after paying for your plan, just go with the default settings for that. Don't remap 'AirPorts' to different local ports, otherwise the client will communicate to trackers (if you use them) and DHT the wrong port - the client will communicate to trackers and DHT the port number you have configured with it. As a result, you will get no incoming packets from the swarm![]()

2. Before you do that, scroll to the bottom of that page: "Suggest a range of sequential free ports". Type in "4" for your number of ports needed. This is done because for the Mule your UDP port is set to your TCP port + 3 (e.g. if your TCP port is set to 30500, UDP port will be 30503). You can try look for something near 30000 using the graph. Open the ports in the given range.
3. Don't open the same ports on your router, there is no need to do so. Exposing the same ports you forward through AirVPN can actually open you up to correlation attacks.
4. Get the "Mule on Android & "Eddie - AirVPN" apps downloaded, they are both available on the Google Playstore as of writing. Don't turn the VPN lock on in the AirVPN app if you don't want to have to leave your phone unlocked while your downloads take place [only relevant if you are using the OpenVPN protocol].
5. Make sure not to tick the "Forward ports" box (i.e. Disable UPnP feature) in Settings > Other settings on the Mule app.
6. Modify your listening port in the Mule app. It's marked "Listen Port" on the main settings page. The default is 30000, you'll need to manually scroll to select another port (at least for me, that's why I suggested picking a range near 30000 earlier). Set it up to be the first open port in your range.

7. You should be all setCheck the sources info for whatever you want to download (you can see this option when you press the ed2k links on this board) and connect to the server with the most sources (long press the server in the app). The app should launch automatically and start the transfer once you press the link.
Note that you cannot upload/share from the app. Nor can you choose the directory where you save your files, only the storage device (internal or external), mine are saved to my downloads folder and I just move them to my 2TB SD card from there. It's also very important to note that if you choose to download directly to the SD card and then delete your Mule app, Android will delete your files (if you haven't moved them)!
My personal experience has been excellent on Android. I was actually able to reach 2.5 MB/s on one of my transfers so far

Proton Free is sufficient, but you'll have LowID.
First, make sure that the ed2k core process is active in the settings (the first option).
Then you should "renew server list"
Long press the appropriate server and press "Connect to", you may need to attempt it several times if it doesn't let you initially.
Once you're connected, you can just press an ed2k link on this board, and it'll open the app with the transfer automatically opened.
Please follow up if any additional help is needed

Are you certain that you're actually connected to a server?flower_ant7 wrote:
If those links are from FLM, it's easy to check the numbers of sources. If there are sources and you aren't connecting, it's possible they are LowID as well.
Leave the port as default, you don't need to change anything since you aren't forwarding ports.

Are downloads even possible with lowid?
How does a premium vpn supports a highid?

Yes, for the goflower_ant7 wrote:
Yup, downloads are definitely possible. I tried it with Proton before.
It will support it because you can forward your ports. Alternatively, you can forward your ports via your router, as demonstrated in Phuzzy's old guide.

1.since you are using mobile , are you using any premium VPN? If no , then are you able to manage downloads?
2. If i use emule on a desktop , then would i need to worry about premium vpns?
