@moonee if you mean secret garden can watch the 93 wb version or 75 bbc version. Maybe the 2020, not really for me but some love that one. 87 is...weird, but some stories I like seeing multiple interpretations of it.

i know you said you wanted historical movies
but what about movies that takes place in more of a recent/modern setting and still wear dresses like that?
Like, lets say for example... there's a movie that takes place in 2021 and the movie has female children wearing dresses similar to that?

Yes, I would like those too as long as Night457 or other mods/admins are ok with stretching out the topic more broadly. Like there's a really good Japanese movie Shimotsuma Monogatari: Yankī-chan to Rorīta-chan; lit. "Shimotsuma Story: Delinquent Girl and Lolita Girl") (for some reason translated to Kamikaze Girls in the west) it's a really good movie IMO, I love the way the main girl dresses, but the ages are not FLM appropriate at all, I think they were both late teens, maybe even early 20s.

Maybe Anne of Green Gables

I love Anne of Green Gables. The original wouldn't count as I believe the actress was latter teens aged, but there have been some more recent ones that might. I am not sure how many interpretation of the story exist, tbh, I have only watched the 80s one that was a Canadian made for tv film, I believe.
