Suddenly, I see the topic title in the window caption (title bar). :clap :clap :clap :thumbsup

And when I have posted this message, I don't see it for this window any more. :( :wall

Before I post a reply, the title of the post is displayed in the title bar at the top of the screen, like so:

After I have posted a reply, it looks like this:

The board software has some quirks, and this is one of them. In order to get the topic displayed in the title again (for bookmarking, presumably) click on the topic title at the top of the page (above the New Post and Post Reply buttons). It may not look like a link, but it is.

[EDIT] Next problem:
Sometimes a search tells you it found one match, but there is no match to be seen.

I'm sorry, I looked as hard as I could. :bigups

From a search listing or a forum, you get the full title if you click the title of the thread, you don't if you click the little icon which goes straight to the latest post.

What I was referring to in my last message to was in the topic itself, i.e. once you are already on the topic how to easily reload it to show the title.

Oh that... searches reporting matches but not showing them for you to click on.

That's due to the database corruption which happened in late 2005/early 2006. As far as I can tell by looking back though messages (I wasn't here then), the corruption happened when the board was transferred to a new ISP at Rich's request, and he had no backup. Some messages were deleted and some threads got corrupted and no longer show up in the forum lists or in search. If you have time on your hands and the knowhow (both of which I have intermittently :) ) you can actually get to the remnants of those topics, but not much interesting is there. Most of them were re-entered by ghost in January 2006, many of them say RREL instead of REL and have little description and that's likely why. It's possible that not all such cases relate to the 2005/2006 problems, but for others the principle is the same.

Usually if you change your "Display results as" from "Topics" to "Posts" you can see messages in the phantom threads, and clicking on them shows the whole thread. If you want to see an example for yourself, search for "glimps". ("glimpse" misspelled). It leads to this corrupted thread: https://www.first-loves.com/forums/v ... php?t=1730

That's the same reason, by the way, that on many forum listings when you go to the final page it has no entries.

wrt the subSilver board style, can we please have the background for the quoted text a lighter shade? Currently it is a dark shade of grey which makes the black text difficult to read. :bigups

Thanks. :clap
