For the MoviesM4u link you posted, I used VideoDownloadHelper Addon in Firefox to get the video URL, then downloaded that URL with yt-dlp. The video is 1080p but has some blocky digital breakup.

There are probably easier ways that some people know???

Vimeo links that are not DEAD I think can be downloaded with Jdownloader2 the last that I tried.

You bring up a very good point: these downloader extensions are not necessarily very good at *downloading*. In this case I was able to use the extension just to get the special video download URL, and then I tried the new URL in one of my usual (good) downloaders.
