Whole lotta cuteness in both movies. (See what I did there?) The sensitivecontent that is supposedly in the first I only see in the second, 26-27 minutes in. Admittedly I was only fast forwarding the DVDs to check, not remembering these details from my last viewing. But the discussion here suggests the two movies were confused, and I agree.

The Swedes do not cut Astrid Lindgren movies for FLM-type OT. Madicken and Ronja continue to be broadcast uncut in all their glory, so I can not see them attacking Lotta. Although they have edited Pippi for racism - with the approval of the Lindgren family. Many people were pissed, saying it should be left uncut. Since Astrid herself had expressed some regrets about it decades later, I am not sure what I think.

I just checked, and both Lotta films have now been released on blu-ray. It has been awhile since I imported expensive Swedish blu-rays without English subtitles, relying instead on 1080p svtplay broadcasts that are easy to sync up with translated subtitles. No sign of the upgraded Lotta in online streaming, however!

I found the 1080p torrents for the first film that ferdi had mentioned, and indeed they are dead.

I also found at Uloz that in addition to the previously listed dvdrips there are 576p (576i ?) full dvd-ISOs of the movies in Swedish with optional Swedish subtitles. No extras.

Here are some magnet links for the first film in 1080p. 2 files of separate size. No activity, but for reference if anyone here is interested in keeping an eye on them. I will be for awhile. Sometimes dead links can pleasantly surprise you.

These are probably the ones I gave up on before, but I was willing to try again. And YAY, there are 5 peers stuck at .4% for the "NORDIC" one, with a possibility of a Seeder that might show up again ... That is certainly better than the entirely dead ones I saw months ago.

So, thank you PuffyCo, this is certainly worth checking out. Do you want to see if you can find a 1080p torrent for the sequel, too? I am still watching the DVD versions.
