I used to use utorrent for many years before I took a years-long break from computer stuff and it worked great. When I came back, everyone was using different clients for everything. Does your utorrent seem to have any ads in it?

It DID, but I did an internet search on how to remove them because I was immediately offended by the videos promoting the torrents it WANTED me to download. It takes a little work but it works.

qBittorrent never had any of that crap, so it IS better as long as it runs fast enough.

They are most of them too old to care. I have a huge collection of many different types of movies anyway.
And once I am dead I don't care.

so, you'll just let them be as-is? you won't erase them, you won't bequeath HDD number 9 to cousin so-and-so?

Haha, I once found out there were no ads before version 1.8.4, so I just use version 1.8.3

My film collection is not an embarrassment. (Except for the occasional DVD with Tom Cruise or Leonardo DiCaprio.) I am proud to tell anyone that I enjoy watching Astrid Lindgren movies. When they say "Who?" that tells me all I need to know. And since I so readily fall asleep in my recliner while trying to watch a movie, I figure that is the best way for me to go when it is my time. If I erase all the drives I can't do that.

I agree that old software CAN be very useful, but I apply that mostly to software that does not need to get updated in the first place and whose function does not require the Internet: like DVD rippers or basic word processing. With the Internet always changing, I can see in theory how a torrent client might benefit from updates to keep it functioning efficiently and securely from malware attack. OF COURSE, the fact that eMule keeps working without updates is a huge counter-argument to my theory...
