I'm an old timer usenet user too and remember when all the JESC stuff and MGP nordic posts from around that time, so we probably talked! I used to use my "MythTV" DVR setup to capture a lot of shows and I made and posted caps like the TLC shows Cheer Perfection and Toddlers & Tiaras back in those days on the newsgroups! I was one of the only people I think that could make direct digital rips of those shows since my cable company didn't encrypt the firewire port on my cable box (unlike most). I also used to post a lot of starlet movies I'd rip from premium pay tv movie channels: often posting the only HD copies before there was any official Blu-Ray releases.

In fact I still use usenet but mostly just using nzb files and tools these days. It's not like the old days where you literally went into a group and loaded up all the headers and just browsed everything that was in there!
