it's been fun translating the subtitles for those commercials!
That is some serious dedication!

So you're using the 1080p TV version for your subs? You're lucky that the commercials don't interrupt the movie, but come afterwards.
The file has a very strange frame rate of 27.775 fps, but the duration shouldn't differ from the "DVD".

I doubled checked, I will be able to accommodate for the variations between the framerate. I originally started with the 1080p TV version because the audio sounded a bit better and possibly more clear on my setup, and the audio on the VHS-DVDr sounded a bit soft. I thought it could result in an AI transcription that was more accurate. But I admit, I never gave the other file a passthrough with whisper.
I will be sure to post subs for both! But, since ghost's version is a more "definitive" upscale, I have transferred operations to it as the starting point.

Edit:
Subs are about 90% done!

And now, gruelingly crafted and finally done, subs for Portrait in Prussian Blue. This one took all of my efforts and thorough use of all of my resources. Timed to ghost's upscale.
Thanks again to ghost for your work on the quality upscale. It looks great. I can write more later on some of the experience and some interesting facts about the movie. Gotta call it a night.
Every sentence was combed over, so you can sit back and relax and watch the movie.

This is great!!! Thanks a lot, pillowbaker.

I know how time-consuming it must have been.
And I know which movie I'm going to watch tonight.

Would it be possible to have the upscaled version available on some platform other than eMule, please?

Well, wasn't that just... ...NOT special!!
First off; let me sincerely thank everyone who worked diligently to bring this rare feature to FLM. Beyond whatever I think about this film, the time and effort put in by members working together is greatly appreciated! Thanks to E9A7F3bD for bringing the movie to us. Thanks to citronleaf and ghost for the upgrades and ESPECIALLY to pillowbaker for the massive work they put into creating amazing subtitles!
It's a shame I couldn't be more excited about the movie itself.. I guess I was expecting a romantic drama with maybe a little fantasy thrown in. The fact this is an almost surrealistic, darkly comic horror film; caught me off guard in a BAD way. Didn't work for me.
The one thing that DID work for me was
Kaori Takahashi as Fuyuka!

From her dance scene on the roof to the Japanese Idol-esque dance sequence during the end credits; she held me entranced.

SHE'S what kept me watching despite my misgivings; ESPECIALLY with the cool but absolutely irrelevant
.

Yeah, the title is a head scratcher. It has nothing to do with anything in the movie. Little Kaori Takahashi is a scene stealer whenever she's onscreen. Maybe we'll get a proper 1080p web-dl from wowow if they ever show it there. Bound to happen sooner or later, I think.
