Not necessarily.. Unlike eMule, DDLs has quotas/restrictions in place

So, you only have a certain amount of gb per day for DDLs before you reach the maximum quota and can't download anymore (Unless you want to download at the speed of 1Mb/S or less)

But again.. I forgot that people could just bypass this with a VPN

With eMule, there's not really any quota/restrictions in place

Well, not "just". Switching VPN nodes is a manual action. It is easier to download from ed2k if I want it to download while away from my computer (or using computer to watch a movie!)

Let's also not forget pixeldrain recently halved the length of time files are kept online...

Yes that's true so pixeldrain is not very useful in the long term/run
