It was very, very reflective of 1994 Romania, it was a disparate time... I like how the finding of the car set the kids free, and then the inter-rivalry between them that ensued
But yes you can sense the poverty in the movie for sure
If you want an even more eye opening experience check out Children Underground, I think I previously relesed it here, a very sad story but again reflective of the environment of the time (and even now!)

Indeed. Not much left out there on the web of her now though, had to image search, reverse search then use the old waybackmachine to even find a pic to use
Another girl from back in the day was Vivian Hsu, also worth a look
Again, nothing controversial imo just beautiful
